Our story
Garnì Plueme was born from the restoration of an old wooden hayloft. The work was carried out with great respect, preserving the soul of the place and turning it into a form of hospitality that is simple, warm and authentic.
You sense it the moment you arrive: here, wood is not just a detail, it tells a story. In 2003, Luca Schneider and his father Enore, both carpenters, brought this 1685 building back to life, transforming it into a place of simple, genuine hospitality.

The restoration
The restoration preserved the original exterior of the hayloft, keeping intact the typical features of local architecture. Among them are the ballatoi and the pirlštongen: wooden poles running horizontally along the balconies, once used to dry hay.
These are not details designed to impress. They are part of the building’s identity. And when you look at them closely, you realise that everything here has remained true to what it once was.

Spaces where your holiday begins to slow down
Today, those same ballatoi offer peaceful moments overlooking the Carnic Alps and the village of Sauris di Sotto: one of those places where you always end up lingering a little longer. In summer, the outdoor veranda becomes the heart of slow mornings, with breakfast in the open air, coffee and a good book. Inside, the shared lounge, once the old stable, welcomes guests with the familiar warmth of a wood-burning stove.
